I spent all day Friday cycling around Yellowstone National Park in the Firehole — located between Madison and Old Faithful — and Norris geyser basins. (Here’s a map for you.) We saw very little fauna this trip; only two elk outside of Mammoth where they lay out on the manicured lawns. The geysers, paint pots, and other geothermal features are absolutely stunning, especially when you see them from a bike. There are so many of them along the roads but it’s very easy to miss them when speeding on down the road. I thought I’d take a break from all things bookish and share some pictures from my recent visit.
The Sunday Salon:
The Sunday Salon encourages bloggers to get together –at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones– every Sunday and read. And blog about their reading. And comment on each other’s blogs. Salon participants are encouraged to blog about their time spent reading, pages read, information about current reading, discuss a reaction to a book, state what they plan to read the following week, or make suggestions for a group read.
I spent the best summer of my life working in Yellowstone. Lucky you, riding around the park on your bike. Delightful.
Thank you for the pictures.
