I seem to be on a book acquiring spree lately. I purchased four of these books at a library used book sale in the next town over. Cutting For Stone by Abraham Verghese was my most expensive buy of the day at $3. I got the other three titles — What is the What by Dave Eggers, Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella, and The Postmistress by Sarah Blake — were a dollar a piece. The skinniest one of the stack is entitled Flora of Montana’s Gallatin Region by Whitney Tilt and was the only one purchased at full price (although the full price of the book actually went to a nonprofit organization in town). I’m really excited about this book as the other book I was using to identify wildflowers was not specific to the region in which I live.
The postmistress has been on my wishlist for ages. I’m waiting for a similar chance encounter in a sale. My boyfriend wants to read What is What but it seems really depressing.
