Since falling a bit behind in adding books to my TBR List, I wound up adding a grand total of 33 books on the first day of February. On Tuesday I posted the first seventeen books I added with links to the book bloggers I heard about the books from. Today’s list includes the final sixteen books at the beginning of February.
- Lady Anna (Anthony Trollope) — Thanks to Becky of Becky’s Book Reviews’ review.
- The Last Letter From Your Lover (Jojo Moyes) — Thanks to Iris of Iris on Books’ review.
- Little Princes (Conor Grennan) — Kim of Sophisticated Dorkiness highlighted this nonfiction book this past Tuesday.
- My Name is Number 4 (Ting-Xing Ye) — Thanks to Kim of Reading Matters’ review.
- The Painted Vail (W. Somerset Maugham) — It was Allie of A Literary Odyssey’s first impressions post that caught my attention, but her subsequent review post really secured this book’s position on The List.
- A Persian Requiem (Simin Daneshvar) — Thanks to Eva of A Striped Armchair’s review.
- The Rape of Nanking (Iris Chang) — Shannon of Giraffe Days also highlighted this book in her post on “Remembering Through Reading”.
- Remarkable Creatures (Tracy Chevalier) — Thanks to Iliana of bookgirl’s nightstand’s review.
- The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives (Lola Shoneyin) — Thanks to Heather of Book Addiction’s review.
- A Sunday at the Pool in Kigali (Gil Courtemanche) — Thanks to Kim of Reading Matter’s review.
- The Tall Man (Chloe Hooper) — Thanks to Karen of Book Bath’s review.
- This Is How (M.J. Hyland) — Thanks to Karen of Book Bath’s review.
- The Tortilla Curtain (T.C. Boyle) — Thanks to Jeane of DogEar Diary’s review.
- The Unit (Ninni Holmqvist) — Thanks to Iliana of bookgirl’s nightstand’s review.
- Wolf Among Wolves (Hans Fallada) — Shannon of Giraffe Days highlighted this book as well in her post on “Remembering Through Reading”. I’ll be reading Fallada’s Every Man Dies Alone at the end of April, which Shannon also highlighted.
- Year of Wonders (Geraldine Brooks) — I’ve heard of this book before, but Jackie of Farm Lane Books Blog’s review was the first that made me really want to read it.
I hope you read Tortilla Curtain soon! I’d like to know what you think of it.

Wow that’s a lot of books added to your TBR! I have The Painted Veil on my shelf and hope to read it soon (or…one day). Hope you’re able to find some great ones among these!

I hope so too. I keep telling myself that it’s a lot because some of these reviews are from three months ago, but it’s not very comforting.

Oh I love your post! I need to “borrow” this one day to show just how many books on my wishlist are there because of my bookish friends 🙂
Just in one week I can add a lot!

I loved Year of Wonders – a friend gave it to me as I was leaving for Japan so I read it on the trip there. I haven’t got around to reading anything else by Brooks yet though.

Oh and I also liked A Sunday at the Pool in Kigali, though it’s hard to say you enjoyed a book that contained so much violence and heartache, isn’t it?

Yep. It’s kind of like saying you like a book about the Holocaust.
