I’m not an Austen purist by any stretch of the imagination, but after disliking Pride and Prejudice and Zombies so much (seriously, I got a little mean in my review because I’m that passionate against it), I was disheartened to learn that Quick Classics is releasing another mucked up version of Jane Austen’s novel. This one throws sea monsters in to the lives and loves of Elinor and Marianne Dashwood to offer up Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, which has already sold out of pre-order stock.
This one has a different author and therefore may be better, but Ben H. Winters has said that Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters has 60% of Austen’s original book unlike Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which had 80%. I can’t decide is this is better or worse. Although, I will admit that the book trailer had me chuckling.
I know several of you found these books immensely fun and diverting, but I couldn’t and I don’t think I’ll be picking up any more of these monster add-ins.
Like you, not looking forward to this, too. Then again, I wasn’t tempted for a bit with P&P+Zombies either.

Okay…this should be against the law…prison, I say, for those who mess with classic texts….

The trailer is hilarious. I think I would rather see these as b-movies than books.

This one was ok….the beta station stuff was funny, but that is near the end of the book and I’m not sure everyone would enjoy the journey to get there. Also, S&S is not my favorite of the austen works
