Thanks so much to Kim of Reading Matters for sending me a copy of Deirdre Madden’s Molly Fox’s Birthday, which is shortlisted for the Orange Prize, and a Bertie the Bear bookmark. I’m really excited to start Molly Fox’s Birthday, especially since Kimbofo thought so highly of it.

And adorable, soft Bertie is currently resting inside of Robert Bolaño’s 2666, which I really need to get crackin’ on if I’m going to keep up with the read-along. He’s also gotten to know my other bear bookmark, Oliver, who is taking up residence in Elizabeth Kostova’s The Historian.
