This week’s questions asks: I saw that National Library week is coming up in April, and that led to some questions. How often do you use your public library and how do you use it? Has the coffeehouse/bookstore replaced the library? Did you go to the library as a child? Do you have any particular memories of the library? Do you like sleek, modern, active libraries or the older, darker, quiet, cozy libraries?
Funny thing, I was just at the library this afternoon, so I would say I use it quite a bit. Besides for checking out books, I also use the library as a place for studying, working on group projects, and a place for my math tutor and I to slave away on calculus. I still have my original library card — the one I signed with big, capital letters when I was five — and spent quite a bit of time at the library as a child. I like my public library; it’s kind of a mixture of modern and sleek and quiet and cozy.
