Competitive Colleges by Fern A. Oram

Nonfiction — print. Peterson’s, 2007. 548 pgs. Borrowed from my mom.

A basic guide to colleges. I tagged several colleges mentioned in the book while reading it, but I never did follow up with them. Not a very persuasive or memorable book.

The information was elementary, and less than you would get if you went to a session about the specific college in the guide or spent ten minutes on their website.

Although, I’d suggest the later because the more interest you show in a college by showing up for their sessions or going on a campus visit, the more they show an interest in you. Or, so I’ve been told.

Still, the introduction is helpful as it’s been written by a director of undergraduate admissions at the University of Michigan. The rest really isn’t worth your time.
