Booking Through Thursday: Writing Challenge

“Pick up the nearest book. (I’m sure you must have one nearby.)

Turn to page 123.
What is the first sentence on the page?
The last sentence on the page?
Now . . . connect them together….(And no, you may not transcribe the entire page of the book–that’s cheating!) “

From Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut:

“Billy Pilgrim was on fire, having stood too close to the glowing stove. The Englishman touched him exploratorily here and there, filled with pity.”

  1. I love that book! It’s one of my favorites, by one of my favorite authors. I also think that that is the best part of the book.
