world-war-2-challengeI saw the War Through the Generations’ World War II Challenge on Becky’s blog and since I’m personally fascinated by World War II, and history in general, I though I’d give this one a shot. The World War II Challenge runs from January 1st to December 31st, 2009. Participants must read a minimum of five books, fiction or nonfiction, any aspect of WWII. The books can also take place before or after the war but WWII must be the primary or secondary theme. I plan to read ten books for the World War II Challenge and I’ll make most of my selections as I go, but I do have a few in mind already.

  1. Baker Towers (Jennifer Haigh)
  2. The Book Thief (Markus Zusak)
  3. The Diplomat’s Wife (Pam Jenoff)
  4. The Edge of Winter (Luanne Rice)
  5. Eleanor’s Story (Eleanor Ramrath Garner)
  6. Ester and Ruzya (Masha Gessen)
  7. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows)
  8. The Kommandant’s Girl (Pam Jenoff)
  9. Maus I (Art Spiegelman)
  10. Maus II (Art Spiegelman)
  11. My Enemy’s Cradle (Sara Young)
